Job Description

Position Summary:

The Processing Manager will be responsible for the direct management and coaching of 10-14 Mortgage Loan Processors who support our Correspondent Lending Partners. The Processing Manager will determine workload, manage workflow and monitor team production and service standards. This position will work closely with the VP of Processing to identify and implement processes that improve business opportunities. The Processing Manager will support the VP of Processing with the development and oversight of short and long-term processing projects, strategic goals and objectives. This position is expected to perform all duties in accordance with Deephaven Mortgage policies, procedures, guidelines and applicable state and federal regulations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Works to develop and increase skill set and knowledge of all processing employees
  • Provides insight, direction and expertise to less experienced team members
  • Independently makes decisions and leads special projects
  • Builds and manages networks of business and internal relationships
  • Provides input on new and / or existing processing processes, procedures and future enhancements
  • Monitors incoming volume and balance pipelines and assignment of production
  • Recruits, hires and trains processing employees
  • Collaborates with VP of Processing on the preparation of the annual performance reviews, any necessary counseling and or performance improvement plans
  • Collaborates with VP of Processing to resolve personnel issues and ensure cohesiveness among staff
  • Coordinates and cooperates with managers inter-departmentally to ensure optimum efficiency
  • Identifies trends and provides training where needed

Key competencies:

  • Provide leadership and partnership with internal staff (i.e., Underwriter, Processor, Closer, Operations Management, etc.) of the mortgage origination companies and third party-vendors throughout review process to clear purchase eligibility conditions
  • Monitor, manage and demonstrate to employees how to deliver prompt, courteous internal and external customer service in a professional manner.
  • Provide assistance in handling loan-level compliance related questions & issues and in the preparation and dissemination of new and updated mortgage compliance standards and procedures
  • Ability to handle/manage multiple functions outside of normal job responsibilities or assist team members with other administrative tasks as needed

  • College degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5-7 years of mortgage related experience
  • 3-5 years of loan processing, closing or post-closing experience
